The day before

Here are some photos of Blake getting his hair cut. He was all over the place. It’s a good thing the Nelson’s had come over to hang out with me as they helped to distract him from the scissors in hand. Especially because those are not the decent hair scissors. They seem to have up and vanished in the last month.

Just look at this face!

Blake loves the camera. He is even starting to look at it when the timer is on.

I was so mad the other morning. If you remember the neighbor who disappeared for about three weeks and left the dog behind? The dog was taken by the county animal control. Well, the same neighbor now has a new dog! Are you freaking kidding me?!?!!?!? Ughhh! Now we have to watch out for the welfare of a new dog. I was so stinking mad I had to hold myself back from waking up Guy (sleeping from working all night) to tell him AND going next door to give the neighbor a piece of my mind. The new dog also happens to be a pit bull which will be just as neglected and mistreated as the last dog. Though I don’t think it will be nearly as nice after all the abuse.

If there is time to get the snow photos on here it will be done. We are almost packed up and ready to take off to the airport tomorrow. Man. This trip seemed so far away when we cashed in our airline miles for it. Time goes by faster and faster with each successive day. Both babies have been battling a fever for the last couple of days. Blake’s got as high as 103 rectally yesterday afternoon. Hopefully they will continue to successfully fight off whatever bug is giving them a fever so they don’t get sick. Gotta run to give the kiddos a bath.

Longest picture post ever…. with updates/comments… Set aside a half an hour…. lol ;-)~

To all of the people who told me it would be horrible when the babies learned to crawl… I’m in love with Blake being mobile! He is no longer the frustrated and cranky little man. He goes where he wants now and is totally happy exploring his toys and world while coming back to me every couple of minutes to touch me before taking off to play again. It’s heaven!

The nine month check up stats are below too.

My friend, Maren, gave us the cutest onsies when the babies were born. They were given to us in this cute little metal bucket. I spotted it the other day and decided to fill it with blocks for a photo shoot. Then I had another thought….

the drool this kid is producing lately as she is teething is enough to fill buckets and buckets.

The next idea was to put Cheerios in the bucket since they just started to eat them! Guy liked it too so after he and the kids finished their special play time (it was so cute to see the three of them playing in the living room after finishing my photo session) we set up the block photo then came the Cheerios!.

Both babies dug right in.
Babies 8 months 1545

Madison was very single minded about eating these the entire time they were in front of them.

I love this one. I was thinking of entering a photo of the kids in the Regis and Kelly baby contest. The deadline is 2/13/09 and the grand prize is 125K. My friends over today thought one of these Cheerios photos would be good to send in. Any thoughts? How about this one or should I pick another or take a new one?
Babies 8 months 1566

I’m not even sure how the bucket got in front of Madison. She is a hoarder!!!! And she always takes whatever Blake has.
Babies 8 months 1569

Babies 8 months 1570

Most people comment on how cool and pretty Blake’s eyes are. Here is my Madison’s pretty eyes. She often has her eyes partially closed like her mama did as a youngin. One day she’ll learn to open them more all the time like I did.
Babies 8 months 1580

Her one little chicklet is so cute. The other bottom tooth is now all the way through the skin.

Babies 8 months 1586

By me taking a photo of myself every day for the 365 project I am taking way more photos of us all on a daily basis. There are some fun and cute ones like this one coming out of it that I wouldn’t have normally taken.
Babies 8 months 1593

Madison does this when she wants to cuddle but has a hard time settling in. She is very restless and, as mentioned many times before, a sleep fighter.
Babies 8 months 1594

I love her snuggles.
Babies 8 months 1595

I LOVE HAND ME DOWNS!!!! Some of the hand me downs we have gotten have resulted in ‘twin’ outfits. These overalls are one of those fortunate gifts we received.
Babies 8 months 1596

Blake seems so petite to me even though I know he is a big baby.

Babies 8 months 1608

I love this smile! Here is where Madison starts to try and get her shoes off.
Babies 8 months 1614

These two share so many moments together and they really love each other. They have both mastered sitting up from a prone position which they do at night when waking, in the morning and during nap times. We hear them talking and laughing with each other more now with them being able to sit up. The cribs are together lengthwise protruding into the room. This way they are not close to the window.
Babies 8 months 1616

All of Blake’s crazy faces crack me up every day.

Babies 8 months 1691

Here I am during the first three hours in the morning. My hair started out wet and became dry, I changed three poopy diapers plus one more wet diaper, the babies drank two bottles and ate runny food plus some Cheerios, I ate some cereal, I surfed the web, I worked on some photos, changed the babies clothes, we cuddled together, I put them down for a nap, and I had some visitors. The baby I’m holding in the upper left is cute little Levi who came along with my visiting teachers from church!
Babies 8 months 1694

This shot is so typical of how Blake or Madison has to be touching me often times when I am dressing or changing the other one.
Babies 8 months 1696

Check out the TV. I had thought to put a photo on the TV in the compilation photo. This is the first shot with the TV on!!! lol
Babies 8 months 1698

This is also pretty typical when both babies not only want to be cuddled they want me standing or walking at the same time! It’s pretty easy to hold one because they are propped on my hip. Unfortunately I cannot stick both hips out at the same time. Though it is easier to hold them this way now with them helping by gripping with their legs and arms then it was a few months ago.
Babies 8 months 1702

They love breakfast.
Babies 8 months 1710

I’m holding Blake and Levi, Madison is sitting in front of Nicole, the ponytail belongs to Kinleigh, the knees belong to Heather and Cloe & Colin are out of the shot.
Babies 8 months 1713

Now Heather, Cloe and Colin are in this frame.
Babies 8 months 1716

We all switched it up again as Nicole looked up the visiting teaching message on to share with me.
Babies 8 months 1718

Nanny & Poppy’s gift arrives. Isn’t Christmas fabulous when you are still getting stuff mid January?!?!?! She saw a comercial for this toy back somewhere around October showing a couple kids playing with it at the same time which hooked her. We have known what they were getting since then. Right now is a perfect time in their development to get it.
Babies 8 months 1720

Babies 8 months 1721

Right about here I noticed Madison has some white in her mouth. She loves to chew on paper and will keep it in her mouth like people keep chewing gum in their mouths! Hmmmm, maybe she’ll be a gum chewer. As long as she doesn’t turn out like the blueberry girl from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! “Violate! You’re turning violate, Violate!”
Babies 8 months 1723

He’s thinking this looks like fun.
Babies 8 months 1725

Yeah, going for the farthest away piece.
Babies 8 months 1727

Guy came home as I was just putting these pieces together and asked me if I had screwed the rest of it together yet. Screwed it? It needed screws? Yep, it did. He found them and got it all safely together.
Babies 8 months 1728

No matter how many big toys we have or get, she loves the rings and balls best of all.

Babies 8 months 1757

Happy 9 months babies!!!!! These are from the 9 month check up.
Babies 8 months 1759

Have I mentioned yet how much she loves paper? Well, a lot more then she loves to play with her shoes!
Babies 8 months 1760

I like how my arms look huge and funny as they get closer to the camera.

Hmmm, this is also one of my new favorite photos!
Babies 8 months 1772

I took three of these and this one is the only one I didn’t look totally wierd/wild eyed in. lol
Babies 8 months 1774

She sees the paper and went for it with all her might!
Babies 8 months 1777

Since those were needed we found her a blank sheet of paper to play with. See the happiness.

A serious faced Blake
Babies 8 months 1796

What a delightful smile from Madison. I love her dragonfly earrings!
Babies 8 months 1797

Both of them had matching bandaids where they got shots. The doctors look at me like I’m crazy every time I ask them to stick the needle in fast like normal but to administer the shot slowly. I always explain to them how a shot always hurts me more and causes mor knots when it is administered quickly. It doesn’t hurt nearly as bad when administered slowely. Even with the explanation I can tell they are only thinking about the immediate crying babies do. Both Blake and Madison do cry when the actual shot is given, but settle down right away and are pretty good the next 24 hours. They have not had any knots since asking the doctors to give the shots slowly.
Babies 8 months 1798

Guy started to ‘lose’ Madison on the way to the car. She ended up looking like this from my view. Not sure how I managed to get the camera up, on, metered and focused with my hands full of Blake, jackets, blanket, camera and more.
Babies 8 months 1799

Bust a move!

Nanny, and Poppy in Utah bought Blake and Madison this great gift for Christmas and had it sent out to us. They absolutely love to sing and dance along, mostly they love to hold the colorful balls and try to put them in their mouth. Here is a video I shot today that shows just how much they love it. Notice at one point Madison taking the ball out of Shannon’s hand, she did not take it at first when offered, only after it was offered to Blake did she decide she wanted it.

My day

Why is it when I think to bring the camera and decide not to there is always something to take a picture of? I still haven’t gotten a photo of the kids sharing a shopping cart made for one nor how cute they look in a little two seater.

So today I saw a handsome man in the Wal-Mart parking lot which I thought later I should have asked him if he had a girlfriend/wife. Pretty people just make it easier to showcase my photography skills. Then I started thinking of a family I photographed about a year and a half ago. She had called me right before the kids were born to see when a good time to take their photos would be. I said about a month after the kids were born would be great since I was pretty much at my 52 inch waist size when she called. Well, them needing photos did not again cross my mind until today on the way home. Once home I wisked the kids into bed trying not to let them wake themselves up after their 10 minute nap in the car, got out the groceries, put said groceries away, made some lunch, sat down to eat my lunch, just finished my lunch and the phone rang. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Regina calls me who I was thinking about less then an hour ago?!?!?!? I love it.

SOooooo I guess my personal lesson to take from today is listen to the promptings you receive and act on them.

This morning I set up the camera to take a photo every 8 minutes for 40 shots. I’m hoping to combine some of the shots into one showing us doing various things around the room. There may be toooo many people in the shot to make it work though. During the last hour my visiting teachers who come by every month to visit with me, share a spiritual thought and make sure all is well were here with two of their kids and two additional kids. I have 4 days prior to that and a photography session to finish before I can work on today’s pictures. If I make myself go in order sometimes they get done faster because some are more inticing to work on then others!

The other day I was packing up some too small clothes in the box to the far left. Madison and Blake both wanted to have me in their sight so she ended up in the basket in the closet.

Grandma’s Christmas box

I guess I should get these photos on here now since my mom is back home. My other uncle diagnosed with stage 4 cancer the September before last passed away. My grandma, mom and her sisters went to the funeral in the boon docks of Kansas. Mom said he was buried in the middle of no where at the end of a dirt road with these weird trees that didn’t look like trees. The area is where his wife is from. On one hand I’m glad he made it this long. On the other cancer is such an incredibly painful and drawn out way to go. I tell you what. If there is any history at all of colon cancer get yourself or your husband regular check ups early. If not make sure to start getting checked regularly at the appropriate age. I think the age to start is 40.

Guy pulling everything out of the box.
Babies 8 months 1420

We sat them down with a bag each.
Babies 8 months 1424

Blake wasn’t interested and because he was a little annoyed she honed in on his bag. Who am I kidding? She LOVES to take anything he has especially his passy.
Babies 8 months 1426

But she didn’t know what to do with it when she did get it. Check out Blake’s feet!
Babies 8 months 1427

Guy gave Blake a new bag, but he still wasn’t getting it. Madison figured out the paper comes out though.
Babies 8 months 1429

Here we have unwrapped everything including out toothbrushes which were wrapped in all the red paper behind the kiddos. Madison picked up her sippy cup and put it to her mouth right away.
Babies 8 months 1430

This photo cracks me up.
Babies 8 months 1432

Once again, Guy is trying to give Blake his sippy cup.
Babies 8 months 1434

He finally figured it out. It makes a great throw it down and bang on it toy! ha ha
Babies 8 months 1436

Ahhh, paper. Blake is getting ready to take off.
Babies 8 months 1439

Here he is trying to crawl. I have said every week for four weeks, “He is going to crawl this week.” When will I learn. As of last night though he can crawl about a foot before giving up now.
